Irritable Bowel Getting You Down?

3 Major Groups of IBS

1. Food Chemical & Intolerance

Relates to people that have IBS symptoms plus they have skin conditions, headaches, hayfever, sinusitis and a proneness to allergies

2. Parasitic

This relates to people that have IBS symptoms that started when they were overseas or they work with soil a lot. This type often has accompanying itchy anus, fever and severe cramping.

3. Bacterial

This is your classic type of IBS. Anything they eat doesn’t sit right, poor digestion, diarrhea, constipation or alternating stools.

No one is exactly the same and I’ll explain why…

For most people, IBS starts the same way

A combination of one or more of the following:

  •  Stress
  • Poor Diet
  • Recreational Drugs
  • Anxiety
  • Poor Eating Habits
  • Unsanitary Food
  • Parasites

This leads to Decreased Stomach Acid, Bacterial Imbalance and Gut Damage Then We Start to Branch Into The 3 Different Types of IBS

 Bacterial Overgrowth (Gut Dysbiosis)

  1. Food Intolerance
  2. Food Chemical Sensitivties

First we want a baseline. Follow basic healthy heating patterns so we know the reason you have IBS isn’t just simply REALLY bad eating habits and hygiene. This makes the process more accurate & scientific.

Secondly, choose your IBS type out of the three (this will be explained in detail).

   Then, follow the treatment pathway.

Once you’re better, find out how to stay better.

This Is The Key To Being IBS FREE…

 Know What is….

 Affecting Your Body

  • Remove The Irritant
  • Give Your Body Time to Heal

Why has it been so confusing for so long?

We have overlooked our health for too long.

We have overlooked our health for too long.

Once we have eradicated the irritant in our gut, whether chemical, bacterial, parasitic etc. we must also learn about our natural threshold level.

Certain chemicals and sugars in foods will naturally cause problems in large amounts.

However, when our gut is inflamed, our threshold is lowered.

This is explained very basically in the figure 2 above. Certain foods in our diet react to our body, when they exceed the threshold point, symptoms such as skin rash, digestive problems and migraines present. We may find it very hard to isolate the food or food group in our diet that is causing us grief as it has an accumulative effect .

What we ate a lot of yesterday and only a little of today may just be enough to push us over the edge and produce symptoms.

The Bristol stool chart above gives us a good reference point. Type 3 or 4 is normal. Any other consistency either side of this indicates an imbalance of some sort. This may be as simple as water intake for some, but for most of you on this site, I’d say it would be one of the 3 types of IBS. But of course, always see your GP first to get a proper diagnosis

Have You Thought About How Much IBS Effects Your Life?

Wouldn’t you like to….

  • Go out for dinner and eat anything you want.
  • Feel comfortable and ‘normal’ again.
  • Not worry if everyone around you can hear your tummy grumbling.
  • Not worry if everyone around you can smell your gas
  • Go anywhere without thinking where the nearest toilet is
  • Make 1-2 trips to the toilet instead of 5-20
  • Feel more energy because you are absorbing more nutrients from food
  • Have more stable moods because your body chemistry is more balanced
  • Not have to get up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet
  • Not have the thought of getting symptoms ruin a romantic moment
  • Stop obsessing over IBS and what consistency your stool is going to be.
